Camera & Microphone Policy

The WhatHerb? application may request access to your device's camera and/or microphone for the purposes of facilitating video consultations with qualified herbal medicine practitioners.

When Camera/Microphone Access Is Requested

  • Video Consultations: Camera and microphone access is used solely to enable live video or audio calls between you and your practitioner via our integrated video platform (Google Meet).
  • Document Uploads: If you use your device camera to photograph and upload health documents (e.g. lab results), camera access is used only for that capture.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not record video or audio sessions without your explicit consent.
  • We do not access your camera or microphone in the background or outside of an active session.
  • We do not store, process, or share any video or audio data captured during consultations on our own servers — all video calls are facilitated by Google Meet and subject to Google's privacy policy.

Your Control

  • Camera and microphone permissions are optional and requested only at the point of use (e.g. when joining a video call).
  • You may deny or revoke camera/microphone permissions at any time through your browser or device settings without affecting your ability to use other features of the platform.
  • Phone and in-person consultation options are available if you prefer not to use your camera.

Third-Party Video Platform

Video consultations are delivered via Google Meet. By joining a video consultation, you are also subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing this policy before participating in video calls.
